Carmageddon back on the road and in the palm of your hand

New mobile version of a PC classic invites gamers to wreak havoc on the roads once more

For Immediate Release:

July 4th 2005 - Just when you thought the roads were safe, mobile entertainment publisher Synergenix, Kayak Interactive's European subsidiary, announces the distribution of CARMAGEDDON, a mobile version of SCi Games' classic video game that puts you behind the wheel of some awesome cars and challenges you to drive faster and more recklessly than ever before.

Created by mobile specialists Impressionware, this swerving, pedal-to-the-metal game is now released for Java-enabled mobile phones and will be available through major mobile networks and portals. A BREW version of the game will be released later this year.

"Building on the success of this remarkable PC classic, we are bringing an experience that will dazzle players and put them in the front seat of the car of their dreams," says Martin Forsling, CEO of Synergenix. "CARMAGEDDON guns the engine and pushes drivers to their limits as they race other drivers and compete in a way you'll never see at the Indy 500. Those familiar with the PC-version will be impressed with a dynamic game that challenges their skills not only for racing but for personalizing their car and expanding those fins for speed."

Putting the player in the driver seat, CARMAGEDDON allows the four-wheeled maniacs to build a speed machine capable of handling the rough and tumble world of street racing and spectacular crashing. During the game, drivers can upgrade or repair cars along with options for bonuses and power-up ramps. They can choose from three different locations for their smash 'n' trash tour: city squares, countryside and deserts.

Luigi Fumero, CEO of Impressionware, said, "With its originality, the mobile version of Carmageddon will excite both fans of the original PC/console game as well as new players. We have added an incredible amount of features to the game: four outrageous cars, four crazy drivers, three different environments to run havoc in and 36 playable events divided in six different event types, from straight races to mad destruction derbies. Fun is guaranteed."

Competitors can also find creative ways to run their opponents or pedestrians off the road, or demolish as much of the scenery as possible, just for fun. The end result is a world where nothing and no one is left standing - drivers should only see open road at the end of their white knuckle ride.

Later in 2005, the Carmageddon experience will jump even further forward with the release of a full 3D version for Symbian and mophunTM enabled mobile phones.

The 3D experience brings an amazing new feel to every crash, smash, and slam of the brakes. CARMAGEDDON offers a realistic driving experience, complete with sensitive suspension for high-speed handling, roads that punish cars for rough riding and crashes in glorious smash-o-vision. The rules are simple - the last one driving, wins.
