Candy Crush Friends Saga surpasses $10 million

King's most recent Candy Crush entry's launch driven by US, Android users

The newest title in the growing line of Candy Crush successes saw a strong opening after its October launch. Candy Crush Friends Saga has just passed the $10 million mark for revenue, not quite one month after release.

Sensor Tower reports that the game was also the No.9 most-downloaded app in October, surpassing its popular predecessor Candy Crush Saga, which sat at No.12 (despite being a six-year-old game).

Candy Crush Saga still far out-grosses its fledgling cousin. Sensor Tower said that in Q2 alone, the series' biggest title brought in $213 million in revenue and was the highest-grossing game from a Western developer over the period.

Candy Crush Friends Saga has a ways to go to catch up. For now, it's strongest in the US, which accounted for 46 percent of player spending, and on Android, which makes up 71 percent of the game's 22.5 million total downloads.
