Calling All DJs: Lumines II Video Mixer Ready To Rock The Web

Junkie XL To Choose Contest Winner for Miami VIP Getaway

BURBANK, Calif. - (November 30, 2006) - Coinciding with the recent release of "Lumines II," the popular music-enhanced puzzle video game for the PSP ® (PlayStation ® Portable) system, Buena Vista Games announced today that it will sponsor an online video mixer contest in which aspiring DJs can put their skills to work and create a new music track. The contest winner will be headed to Miami this spring for the ultimate Winter Music Conference experience and to meet Junkie XL.

Utilizing musical elements like loops, beats and other sound effects from the Junkie XL song "Breezer," along with visual elements, including "Lumines II" gameplay footage and prerecorded footage of a dancer executing various moves, users can create their own remixes to share with friends and enter to win.

"Music, creativity and customization come together in 'Lumines II.' Now, those elements can be used by fans to create a musical and visual experience with a chance to discuss their new creation with Junkie XL in Miami," said Craig Relyea, vice president of marketing, Buena Vista Games. "With digital music and online video being so popular, we hope this contest will inspire many would-be musicians and music video creators."

To enter the "Lumines II" Video Mixer Contest, entrants will use the video mixer program at http://buenavistagames.go.com/lumines/mixer/. Various tracks, including video, music, effects and moves can be mixed to create an original music video. Entrants also can share their new creations with friends online.

All customized, individually created re-mixes must be submitted by December 31, 2006, to be considered. Ten finalists will be selected and judged by Junkie XL, who will choose a winner based on creativity, overall sound/visual appeal and feeling. The winner will receive a trip for two to Miami for the Winter Music Conference, a VIP experience with Junkie XL, hotel accommodations, round-trip airfare, car rental and $500 spending cash.

The contest is open to U.S. residents, but anyone can create a new musical track using the video mixer.

About "Lumines II"

"Lumines II" for the PSP system is the sequel to the extremely addictive puzzle-based video game, "Lumines." To play, gamers control squares made of four smaller block pieces that are dropped into the playing field one at a time to form same-color rectangles. The vertical "timeline" sweeps across the playing field from left to right and wipes the same-color rectangles from the playing field. Unmatched blocks pile up, and the game ends when the pile gets to the top of the playing screen. Advance through many action-packed levels, each with its own musical theme and sound effects.

The game includes licensed soundtrack featuring songs and music videos by today's cutting edge musicians - Beck, Black Eyed Peas, Chemical Brothers, Fatboy Slim, The Go! Team, Gwen Stefani, Hoobastank, Junior Senior, Missy Elliott and New Order. Additional songs are from Junkie XL, Stigmato Inc, Star Casino, Ken Ishii and Techriders.
