Buena Vista Games becomes Disney Interactive

The Walt Disney Company has announced that subsidiary Buena Vista Games is to be renamed Disney Interactive Studios.

The Walt Disney Company has announced that subsidiary Buena Vista Games is to be renamed Disney Interactive Studios.

DIS will continue to release games under the Disney brand, plus the ABC and Touchstone brands.

"This change reflects our focus on creativity, the weight of Disney content in our portfolio and the enormous value consumers see in the Disney brand," said senior vice president Graham Hopper.

Based in Glendale, California, Disney Interactive has four internal game studios including Avalanche, Fall Line and Propaganda. The company acquired Brighton-based studio Climax last September.
