Bubble Town: Party Planet

Arcade game gets a Facebook version.

NEW YORK & LONDON - January 5, 2010 -- I-play, Oberon Media's publishing division and the world's leading multi-platform casual games publisher, today launched Bubble Town: Party Planet for Facebook. After a successful beta period, the newest iteration of the multi-platform arcade game phenomenon-which has been played more than 130 million times-is now live on Facebook. To celebrate the launch of the game, I-play will run a sweepstakes that will give players a chance to win one 8GB iPod touch with Bubble Town 2, one copy of Bubble Town Deluxe for PC or Mac, and one prize of 10,000 BubbleBucks to spend in Bubble Town: Party Planet.

For the first time in Bubble Town history, Bubble Town: Party Planet incorporates a brand-new virtual economy into the game's traditional gameplay. Players use BubbleBucks to make in-game purchases on items including power ups, extra level packs, in-game gifts and more.

"Bubble Town is the game that started it all for social gaming on Facebook," says Oberon Chief Strategy Officer, Ofer Leidner. "Since then, we have seen phenomenal success with the franchise across all platforms. With the integration of the BubbleBucks virtual economy and other new innovative features on Facebook, fans will now be able to make in-game purchases and compete with friends like never before."

In Bubble Town: Party Planet, players carefully aim and shoot colorful borbs to pop three or more of the same kind. Following in suit of the classic Bubble Town gameplay that has been wildly successful on PC, mobile, iPhone, Facebook and MySpace platforms, players must match borbs to clear the board and rack up as many points as possible. Along the way, players will be able to earn through achievements or buy with BubbleBucks both familiar and brand-new special borbs that will help them in their mission.

Also new to the franchise is the achievement board, which tracks players' achievements and awards as they progress through the game. Additionally, the game's brand-new friend and global leaderboards allows players to see how their scores stand up to the competition.

"Bubble Town: Party Planet allows players to discover more levels and advance faster through the game," says Daniela Teverovsky, creator of the largest Bubble Town fan page on Facebook. "It's a very addictive game, and I know fans will love the new version."

Bubble Town is the arcade-style puzzle game that tests wits, as well as reflexes. Players join the unforgettable cast of characters for an adventure of bubble-popping proportions in both Journey Mode and Arcade Mode. The fun and addicting gameplay makes Bubble Town one of the most successful online games ever created, and the #1 most played online game on MSN Games.
