The Latin American Invitational Starcraft II: Wings of Liberty will be the first championship game in the country and will be held on November 20 th and 21 st during the Brazil Game Show (BGS). The competition will distribute a total of ten thousand dollars in prizes and will bring together eight of the top players from across Latin America in epic combat. Blizzard Entertainment, creator of the Warcraft series, will present the tournament at the BGS, but for those who want to test the game without venturing into the tournament, you can also play it in their booth during the event. Visitors will also meet the staff of Blizzard and participate in various activities created especially for the Latin American community, such as contests and giveaways.

Among the other championships awaiting players at the Brazil Game Show are the classic games The King of Fighters 98 and Super Street Fighter IV. Those who enjoy music and dancing can enjoy the Michael Jackson Challenge as well as the Just Dance 2 Challenge, both played at the NC Games booth. And naturally, in the land of football/soccer, Konami will be present challenging the best players and their ball control with Pro Evolution 2011. The Crime Craft launch will be featured in the Boa Compra Games booth.

The final round in the national championship for Pump it Up! – the popular dance game where two contestants show their skills, promises to entertain adults and children in the Seven Computer Graphics booth. The Miss Gamer beauty contest will bring together beautiful people who enjoy games, but being beautiful is only one quality, since the contestants need to demonstrate that they really enjoy playing video games as well. "And next year she may be the muse of the event," teases Marcelo Tavares, organizer of the BGS. The contest will take place on Saturday, November 20 th and conclude on Sunday, November 21 st. The audience will choose the three best contestants, and ultimately the winner, who will be awarded a PlayStation 3 console provided by Sony Brazil. Registration for the Miss Gamer beauty contest must be completed at the official event website www.brasilgameshow.com.br

Another contest highlighted at BGS is Brazil Game Jam. The competition seeks to identify new talent and encourages the development of electronic games in Brazil. In this competition, 10 teams from universities all over Brazil will be followed for 40 hours, between November 19 th and the 21 st, while they develop a demo version of a new game. The activity will be coordinated by Esteban Clua, from Fluminense Federal University in Rio. "This competition is an occasion where great talents arise. The winners must show ideas for innovative gameplay," giving a hint. The winning game will be posted on the website of the event and each winner will be awarded a PS3 and three games (God of War 3, Uncharted and Gran Turismo Prologue). All the necessary support to hold this competition will be provided on site. The theme of the games to be developed will be drawn at the beginning of the competition and no team will receive advance information. Judging the best work will be done by a jury composed of various representatives from the games industry, the specialist press and the academy, based on the following criteria: degree of innovation of the game, teamwork, gameplay and completeness.
