Blizzard sets up new Texas office

World of Warcraft developer Blizzard is to open a new office in Austin, Texas, according to the Austin Business Journal.

World of Warcraft developer Blizzard is to open a new office in Austin, Texas, according to the Austin Business Journal.

Blizzard has already secured a 46,000 square foot building to house the new customer service centre, which is being established to meet the needs of the ever-growing WOW community. The game now has more than 8 million subscribers.

Chief operating officer Paul Sams said, "We'll have numerous immediate job openings at the Austin customer service centre, and we plan to expand that staff as needed in order to ensure that we can provide the best possible service experience for our players on an ongoing basis."

Austin is already home to several development studios, including one belonging to MMO publisher NCsoft.
