Blizzard boss to speak at Austin GDC

CMP has announced that Michael Morhaime, president and co-founder of Blizzard Entertainment, will deliver a keynote speech at this year's Austin Game Developers Conference.

CMP has announced that Michael Morhaime, president and co-founder of Blizzard Entertainment, will deliver a keynote speech at this year's Austin Game Developers Conference.

Also signed up is Sulake's Sulka Haro, who oversaw the creative development of globally successful virtual world Habbo. Since launching in 2000 Habbo has expanded into 29 countries and attracts millions of users each month.

"For online games and virtual worlds, Blizzardâs World of Warcraft and Sulakeâs Habbo Hotel have pioneered the way and set precedence on how MMOs can transcend into real communities as well as establish new e-commerce models," said Austin GDC content manager Jane Pinckard.

"We canât wait to hear what the men behind these iconic games have to say regarding the future of online gaming."
