Blitz announces dates for 2007 student open days

UK developer Blitz Games has announced the dates for this year's series of student and lecturers' open days, with registration now open for the 100 places available.

UK developer Blitz Games has announced the dates for this year's series of student and lecturers' open days, with registration now open for the 100 places available.

Blitz held its inaugural open days in June and July last year, and more than 50 students and 25 lecturers attended along with representatives from Skillset. This year a fourth date has been added and the number of places has been increased in a bid to build on the success of the 2006 events.

Places are available to students and staff on videogames-related courses across universities in the UK. Blitz is pledging to offer insight into the development process and advice on preparing portfolios at the open days.

"We were pleasantly surprised by the number and quality of students who attended last year and firmly believe that itâs crucial for the industry to work much more closely with our future employees," said open day co-ordinator Kim Blake.

"As consoles become ever more popular so the demand for content increases and we want to be at the forefront of developing that content - to do that we need the best people."

The Blitz Games open days 2007 for students will take place on Friday March 16 and Friday March 23. The lecturers' open days will be held on Friday March 30 and Friday April 13. To register for the event, visit the Blitz Games website.
