Blitz Academy - Blitz Academy

Registration now open for next year's student open days at Blitz Games Studios.

3 NOVEMBER 2010. LEAMINGTON SPA, UK. Blitz Games Studio’s Student Open Days for 2011 will be held on Thursday 24 February, Thursday 10 March and Thursday 17 March, catering to second, third and final year students studying any games courses or games-related disciplines.

Blitz Open Days have been running successfully since 2005, and next year’s will offer a broad introduction to the enormous range of skills and talents involved in creating games, as well as a studio tour and the opportunity to talk in depth with and get first-hand feedback from experienced development staff.

The Open Days are free to attend but all applicants must complete a work sample in order to be considered for a place. The closing date for work sample submission is Monday 10 January 2011.

"We're extremely proud to announce the sixth year of Open Days from Blitz Game Studios," says Kim Blake, Blitz Academy’s Education Liaison Manager. "We'd also like to remind students that these days aren't just aimed at those who are doing games-specific degrees - we positively welcome submissions from those studying maths, computer science, illustration, pure animation and so on – all subjects that teach the skills needed in today's thriving games industry are welcome."

Some student feedback from the March 2010 Open Days:
