Blade forms new mobile division

Strikes publishing deal with I-Play and promises new titles

Blade Interactive has formed a new mobile division, BIG, and has already struck a deal with publisher I-Play to bring its latest snooker title to handsets in March.

The developer has already achieved acclaim on home consoles with a series of snooker games published by Sega, and promises to dominate the genre in the mobile sector too.

"This is the first of a number of new initiatives from Blade," revealed Peter Jones, managing director.

"We have established a new mobile division as part of a major ramping up of Blade's scale of operations and its presence in the market place."

"Cue sport games have been a major genre of mobile gaming for some years and our objective is simply to dominate this niche just as we have in the videogames market," he added.

The developer will release World Snooker Championship in March, and promises a pool and strategy puzzle game later in the year.

"Our entire focus is quality," commented Jones. "We want to raise the bar for mobile gaming."
