Black Hawk Down Choppers Into European Mobile Networks
Vivendi Games Mobile Releases Mobile Game Based On The Popular Modern Warfare Franchise
Paris (August 23, 2006) - Vivendi Games Mobile (VGM), a division of Vivendi Games (VG), announced today the launch of its latest cell phone title, Delta Force® Black Hawk Down®: Team SabreTM. The title, based on Novalogic's popular Black Hawk Down PC game franchise which was inspired by the iconic 2001 Ridley Scott film of the same name, is part of VGM's multi-title mobile game publishing partnership with Novalogic.
Action games are among the fastest-growing mobile game genres, especially in North America where they are catching up to casual games, as outlined in a recent (June 16, 2006) article in Mobile Media. The genre promises to be a particular strength of Vivendi Games Mobile, which will benefit from access to Vivendi Games' extensive portfolio of heavily marketed PC, console and handheld action titles.
About Delta Force Black Hawk Down: Team Sabre for mobile
A squad-based shooter gives players the chance to lead the elite Special Forces Operational Detachment Delta, commonly known as Delta Force (or simply "the unit"). Delta Force Black Hawk Down: Team Sabre features 10 missions across the deserts and villages of the Persian Gulf and the jungles of South America. Levels alternate between helicopter and ground combat, with 20 action sequences. The skills and weaponry on each unit member must be managed wisely to complete mission objectives. Players can use snipers, gunners and engineers in situations requiring them to defuse mines, hack security systems, confront ambushes and call in air strike support. The game, developed by Damoni, boasts state-of-the-art graphics and intuitive point-and-click controls which enable seamless maneuverability.
"The game opens with one of the best action sequences in mobile gaming today, and the excitement ramps up from there," said Paul Maglione, President of Vivendi Games Mobile. We're delighted to kick off our partnership with NovaLogic with such a title, and we will be bringing more best-in-class military action to mobile phones in the months and years to come."
Delta Force Black Hawk Down: Team Sabre will be available on over 500 mobile phone models in English, French, Italian, German, and Spanish. The game is available for download from mobile carriers and other mobile phone sales throughout Europe.
