BioWare placed in Canadian employers Top 100

BioWare has proudly announced it has secured a place in the latest edition of Mediacorp Canada's Top 100 Employers guide, which has seen over 50,000 applications this year.

Famed RPG developer BioWare has announced it has secured a place in the latest edition of Mediacorp Canada's Top 100 Employers guide, which has seen over 50,000 applications this year.

Based on outstanding HR practices, working environment, employee benefits, training and development opportunities and successful company growth, Mediacorp Canada scrutinised and evaluated information from over 50,000 companies to establish the Top 100 best places to work in Canada. BioWare were previously recognised as a great place to work with a position in the 2004 edition.

Charity and community contributions were also a key factor in the decision, and BioWare is no stranger to supporting the local community. The company recently hosted the Miracle Builders Breakfast, helping to raise USD 500,000 in one hour for the purchase of vital medical equipment for the Stollery Children's Hospital.

Joint CEO Dr. Ray Muzyka commented: "This acknowledgment is a great honour, and we are thrilled to receive this award. It is important to BioWare because it reflects our core value of quality in our workplace, and it also demonstrates that BioWare is an employer of choice for prospective employees not only in Canada, but world-wide."

The company continues to achieve critical and commercial success, and is currently developing an original RPG title exclusively for the next generation Xbox 360 console, called Mass Effect. In addition, BioWare are hard at work on another title called Dragon Age and developing a multi-platform cutting edge game engine for next generation devices.

Mass Effect marks the third truly original proprietary intellectual property since the company's exception, with the acclaimed Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic and Jade Empire coming before. Joint CEO, Dr. Greg Zeschuck stated: "BioWare is very excited to be in a position where we have the experience, maturity and confidence to undertake the huge task of creating a compelling new game property. Many BioWare employees have been interested in this type of creative challenge for quite some time, and we're very pleased to be able to provide this opportunity."
