Bionic Commando Rearmed 2

Available on PSN now and XBLA tomorrow.

SAN MATEO, Calif. — February 1, 2011 — Capcom®, a leading worldwide developer and publisher of video games, today announced Bionic Commando® Rearmed 2 is now available for download  on PlayStation®Network for the PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system in North America and on Xbox LIVE ® Arcade for the Xbox 360 ® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft tomorrow, February 2, 2011.

The sequel to Bionic Commando Rearmed, Bionic Commando Rearmed 2 is the next evolution in 2-D side scrolling action with lush environments, explosive weapons, and new enemies.  Bionic Commando Rearmed 2 sees the return of Nathan “Rad” Spencer as the daring, elite soldier equipped with his famous bionic arm.  Now outfitted with both passive and active upgrades, Spencer’s bionic arm can be customized to suit the player’s taste at any time during gameplay. Active upgrades such as grenade launchers, upper cuts and electro claw allow for more offensive attacks on the countless gun-toting soldiers encountered throughout the game. Health regeneration, ammo regeneration, speed booster and other passive upgrades give Spencer non-offensive abilities that are engaged without the player’s involvement.

The introduction of Spencer’s new ability to jump brings fresh, new platforming mechanics to the series.  Spencer is now able to grab, swing and leap through a series of lush new environments and physics-based puzzles to stop the launching of a deadly missile strike by his greatest challenge yet, the evil General Sabio. With a host of explosive and upgradeable weapons, players will wreak havoc on General Sabio’s minions and mechanized threats ready to stop Spencer dead in his tracks.

Bionic Commando Rearmed 2 enhances the visual achievements of its predecessor with the addition of more detailed character models, textures, and vibrant colors.  Cooperative gameplay returns as players can play alone or with a friend to topple General Sabio.  Bionic Commando Rearmed 2 improves upon its predecessor by presenting co-op gameplay in a single screen requiring the players to work together in a more dynamic fashion.

Bionic Commando Rearmed 2 is rated Teen by the Entertainment Software Ratings Board (ESRB) and can be purchased today from PlayStation®Network for $14.99.  It can be purchased tomorrow from Xbox LIVE Arcade for Xbox 360 for 1200 Microsoft Points.
