Bigpoint and InnoGames confirmed for Festival of Games

Execs from gaming portal Bigpoint and Tribal Wars creator InnoGames attend Dutch expo

Bigpoint CCO Nils-Holger Henning and InnoGames co-founder Michael Zillmer are the latest speakers to be confirmed for the Festival of Games event in The Netherlands.

Zillmer will be joined by project manager Tim Werner for InnoGames' session, where they will discuss the advantages and disadvantages of having a strong community. The two will discuss best practices for community management, with a lengthy Q&A session planned with the audience.

Henning will discuss the evolution of gaming and how video games are increasingly affecting people's lives. He will also talk about new technologies such as sensors that can track a user's movements or detect brain activity that can be translated into avatar reactions.

"Through the application of new technologies, we are able to realise new game concepts which contain graphics with a quality similar to that of console games but can still be played without downloading anything," said Henning ahead of the event.

"It is my goals to convey our vision on how these changes will influence the target groups for games", he added. "The takeaways of the session can be implemented immediately in the daily business of the listeners".

The Festival of Games is due to take place on April 28 to 29 at the Jaarbeurs Utrecht in the Netherlands. The 2010 event attracted over 2000 visitors, with 180 companies from 25 countries.
