BAFTA videogames award win for PSYCHONAUTS and MAJESCO

Bristol, UK - 10th October 2006 - Majesco Europe are very proud to announce that PSYCHONAUTS picked up the prestigious BAFTA videogame Best Screenplay award at a glittering ceremony last week held in the famed Camden Roundhouse in London.

Created by Double Fine Productions, PSYCHONAUTS thrusts players into a third-person psychic odyssey across 13 incredibly unique levels: three set in the real world and ten set inside the mental worlds of misfits, monsters and madmen. Once inside a mind, players rise in rank by collecting figments of imagination; sorting through emotional baggage; clearing out mental cobwebs and cracking open memory vaults. Players also earn psychic powers like telekinesis, invisibility, pyrokinesis and clairvoyance as they progress through the game.

Featuring a humorous storyline filled with unforgettable characters and non-linear gameplay of incredible depth, PSYCHONAUTS offers players multiple paths throughout wildly imaginative settings. Along the way, players must conquer an array of challenging puzzles with alternate solutions that tailor themselves to a player's own strengths and abilities.

Jason Dutton, Managing Director of Majesco Europe said "We are extremely excited and pleased that PSYCHONAUTS has won this fantastic award. To get the BAFTA seal of approval on PSYCHONAUTS' screenplay is something really extra special. The award is the ultimate recognition for Tim Schafer and all at Double Fine, whose creative genius and vision made an utterly unique game. We are all very proud at Majesco to have worked with such an amazing team."

This award is the latest in a long line of plaudits for PSYCHONAUTS including Eurogamer's 'Game of the Year', Gamespot and IGN's 'Best Platformer' and 'Best Writing' at the 2006 Game Developers Choice Awards.

To add to this success, Majesco Europe also received a BAFTA award nomination in the strongly contested strategy category for the highly anticipated AGE OF EMPIRES on DS, developed by Backbone Entertainment.

PSYCHONAUTS is out now on Playstation 2, Xbox and PC formats. AGE OF EMPIRES will be released in Europe on Nintendo DS on November 10th. Both games are sold and distributed in Europe by THQ.
