Nominations are being sought for the first BAFTA Interactive New Talent award, a special award which is designed to recognise rising stars of the UK games industry and will be presented at the EIGF 04 event this August.

The award, which is being sponsored by mobile operator Orange, will recognise "creative innovation, technical excellence and production achievements" on the part of an individual who has been working in the industry for five years or less.

In other words, it's open to anyone who works in the product development and technology areas of the industry (so no managers, sales people, marketing types or anyone who might be seen dead in a suit, basically) and whose first job in the industry was started after August 1st, 1998.

To find out more about how to nominate a colleague for the award (or indeed yourself, if you're so inclined, but people might think you've got a bit of an ego problem), scoot over to the [EIGF website].

However, you'll have to be quick - nominations officially close on Friday, July 9th.
