Babel launches recruitment drive to reach 500

Babel is doubling the capacity of its facility in Montréal, it was announced today (02/20/2007), as the specialist services company launched a campaign to recruit an additional 350 personnel to bring the company's head count to 500 during the busy season this year.

In a week when Montreal's claim to be one of the premier games clusters in North America received a major boost from the announcement that Eidos is opening a studio in the city, Babel's recruitment drive simply underlined Quebec's claim to pre-eminence.

"We have recently signed contracts with clients who, without exaggeration, own some of the greatest Intellectual Property (IP) in the world," said Algy Williams, Managing Director of Babel. "We will be testing their games across all platforms, including PS3 and Xbox 360, and we need to recruit talented and motivated people who are looking for a career in the games industry".

Babel is looking for testers to work in the company's fast growing functionality QA department, but is also hiring testers and porters for its wireless department as well as project managers across all its service lines, including localization. Babel opened for business in Montreal in August 2005, and since then has steadily increased its presence in the city. The company has established the facility as its North American head-quarters and works across all platforms.
