Autodesk hosts An Evening with Epic Games

19 June 2007 - Autodesk will be hosting a series of evenings with Epic Games. Character artist Chris Wells will give an exclusive insight into their current project Unreal Tournament 3, as well as the character development process at Epic from concept to creation, and tips and tricks on how they create assets for next-generation games.

Chris has been a character artist at Epic Games for two years, working most recently on Unreal Tournament 3 and Gears of War. He has more than eight years experience in the games industry, starting at Ubisoft's Redstorm Entertainment working on Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon and the Rainbow Six series, and also at Ubisoft Paris.

The events will be hosted by Michel Kripalani, senior games industry manager at Autodesk and will also feature demos on using Autodesk 3ds Max and Autodesk Maya 3D modelling and animation software for games.

Michel is a veteran of the games industry, having founded Presto Studios in 1991 which produced many successful games such as The Journeyman Project series, Myst 3: Exile, and Whacked! Michel joined Autodesk in 2004 to focus product development on the needs of game developers. He oversees Autodesk 3ds Max, Autodesk Maya and Autodesk MotionBuilder from the perspective of a game developer, working closely with Microsoft, Sony, Nintendo, and middleware providers. He's currently focused on leading technical innovation for next generation gaming systems.
