DALLAS, November 23, 2004 - Blockdot, a Dallas-based game developer has released a new holiday game called, "Attack of the Mutant Artificial Trees". The game is a 'point and shoot' style game in which mutated artificial trees burst out of their boxes with sounds like "bah humbug" and eerie monster groans in their effort to take away your Christmas spirit.
Over 75,000 people have played the game since it was released a week ago.
The game stars one of Santa's elves who tries to lend a hand in stopping the mutated artificial trees. Players must smack the monsters with snowballs. You need quick reflexes and a steady hand to keep up your Christmas spirit.
The National Christmas Tree Association sponsored the game and is using the game to educate players on the positive points of having a real Christmas tree this year.
Between round screens of the game provide facts on Christmas Trees and the end of the game presents the opportunity for kids ages 6-16 to win a $5,000-$10,000 scholarship or a trip for four to two exciting destinations by entering NCTA's "Help Santa Find the Perfect Real Tree" national contest.
Players also have the opportunity to invite their friends to try and beat their score.
