Jagex backs GamesIndustry.biz Investment Summit 2018

Runescape creators looking to publish games and meet indie developers

Runescape maker Jagex is coming to the GamesIndustry.biz Investment Summit as it seeks to publish live (or living) games from independent developers.

The firm announced its plans to push into publishing last year, and detailed more about its ambitions in an interview with GamesIndustry.biz in May. The firm has hired games veteran John Burns to lead its publishing initiatives.

Jagex has signed on to sponsor the Investment Summit, and will be joining over 18 other investors and publishers at the event on September 20th at Birmingham NEC. They'll also be among the speakers at the show, which includes talks from Fig, Humble Bundle, London Venture Partners and Private Division. The full schedule is listed below. The event takes place alongside EGX, the UK's leading gaming event.

Already 100 tickets have been sold for the event. The Early Bird rate ends tomorrow, so get your tickets now. EGX indie exhibitors can come for free. Tickets include weekend access to EGX, entry to the GamesIndustry.biz Zone plus a networking lunch.

"Jagex is proud to support the GI Investment Summit and we're looking forward to engaging with studios growth opportunities," Burns said. "Our participation is an important part of the third age of Jagex as we look to support studios and development talent by opening our live game publishing services to studios seeking success in the living games market."

Our full list of attending publishers and investors (so far) are: Jagex, Nintendo of Europe, EA Originals, Take-Two's Private Division, SIE XDev Studio Europe (PlayStation), Team17, London Venture Partners, Sega, Fig, Humble Bundle, Green Man Gaming, Creative Europe, Harbottle & Lewis, Amazon App Store, UK Games Fund, Supernova, Miniclip, Makers Fund, Thunderful and Wicked Sick.
