ArmA II

Promotional assault to be staged across Future's PC mags and GamesRadar.

18/06/09 – Future, the special-interest media group, is partnering with 505 Games for a cross-platform media campaign to promote the highly-anticipated launch of PC strategic warfare game, ArmA II.

Developed by Bohemia Games in partnership with 505 Games, ArmA II promises to take warfare to a new level, offering an incredibly realistic war simulation for PC gamers, as American soldiers are sent behind enemy lines to restore peace to Chernarus, a fictional Soviet country ripped apart by civil war.

The monthly long cross-platform campaign sees both Future’s fast-growing GamesRadar Network and its print PC gaming titles utilised to promote ArmA II.

Created in-house by Future Digital - the exclusively created interactive video application tests whether users are fit to command an elite military unit. Users get to watch an in-game scenario from AmrA II and are then offered a number of strategic choices to overcome a series of battlefield dilemmas. With the fate of the squadron in their hands, users will find a new video mission uploaded to the ArmA II application each week from Friday, June 19th.

The flash-based video application also gives gamers information about ArmA II, as well as links to recommended retailers to buy the game online, and a chance to win a copy.

Future’s GamesRadar.com and CVG.co.uk websites will drive traffic to the ArmA II campaign throughout the month long promotion, through online advertising and home-page editorial. The company’s PC games focused print titles, PC Gamer and PC Zone will also promote the launch of ArmA II – further increasing the campaign’s reach and exposure to influential gamers.

Future’s London Sales Director, Malcolm Stoodley said:

“This innovative, high-impact campaign for ArmA II demonstrates how Future’s client-focused creative solutions really brings great advertising ideas to life. The video application gives gamers a sense of the strategic know-how you need to succeed in ArmA II and forms the centre-piece of our integrated media campaign. Bringing Future’s print and online properties together to promote a launch will generate awareness and sales of new games.”
