Argonaut's I-Ninja goes PS2 exclusive in Europe

Sony has announced that it will be publishing Argonaut's I-Ninja for Namco in Europe, with the title - available on all three consoles in the USA - being released as a PS2 exclusive during Q1 2004.

The title, which features (as you might expect) a ninja who must master various ninja weapons in order to defeat hordes of robotic enemies, has attracted significant interest from the gaming press due to its "cute" styling and unusual gameplay elements.

The decision to release the game on one platform only here, eschewing the Cube and Xbox versions, tends to suggest that Sony must have opened its purse strings in order to secure exclusivity, which would imply a strong degree of confidence in the game from the platform holder.

Previous Namco multiplatform titles have made it to Europe with all SKUs intact - such as the highly anticipated Soul Calibur 2, which arrives at retail tomorrow, with the PS2 and Xbox versions published by EA, and the GameCube version published by Nintendo itself.
