Angry Birds

Ten million App Store downloads and angrier than ever.

Espoo, Finland – October 28, 2010 – Rovio are proud to announce that the App Store downloads of Angry Birds have surpassed the 10 million mark.

Released in December 2009, Angry Birds and Angry Birds HD have dominated the App Store charts for the better part of 2010. The game has become a pop-culture phenomenon outside the small screen, gained a following of loyal fans and caught the attention of celebrities and media alike.

“It feels fantastic to have such a phenomenal number of customers and fans,” said Mikael Hed, CEO of Rovio. “Angry Birds is truly taking mobile gaming to the mainstream. It is a privilege to develop games and provide entertainment for so many people worldwide.”

Earlier this week Rovio announced that the seasonal special edition, Angry Birds Halloween, reached one million App Store downloads in just six days.

Angry Birds is available for $0.99 for iPhone and iPod touch, and Angry Birds HD for $4.99 for iPad from the App Store.

In addition to the iOS version, Angry Birds has been released for the Android platform, Palm WebOS, Symbian^3 and the Nokia N900. The combined number of downloads of free and paid versions of Angry Birds on all platforms has reached 30 million.
