Angry Birds

Catapulted onto the Mac Store.

Espoo, Finland -- January 6, 2011 -- Rovio today announced the availability of the hit game Angry Birds on the Mac App Store. In 2010, Angry Birds became a worldwide mobile phenomenon, with 50 million downloads in just one year. Now the game is available for Mac users all over the world.

“Angry Birds is a perfect match for the Mac App Store,” said Mikael Hed, CEO of Rovio. “The Mac version of Angry Birds sets a new standard for casual gaming on the Mac, and we couldn't be more thrilled to make it available on the first day of launch."

Angry Birds puts you in charge of a quirky flock of birds, who go on an intense assault on the hungry green pigs who have stolen their eggs. In the game, you use a slingshot to send the Angry Birds smashing into the pigs and their puzzling constructions. The Mac version includes 195 levels packed with hours and hours of gameplay, with free updates lined up for the future, just like with the mobile version.

The Mac App Store provides a brilliant opportunity for Rovio to introduce the full gameplay experience of Angry Birds to the Mac. For the best possible game experience, Rovio plans to introduce new enhancements to the game that support the capabilities of Macs in future updates.

Pricing and Availability

Angry Birds is immediately available on the Mac App Store for $9.99/£5.99/€7.99. Users can expect free updates and improvements to the game. For more news and information on Rovio products and updates, follow RovioMobile on Twitter and like Angry Birds - Rovio Mobile on Facebook.
