Andreas Weidenhaupt resignation

CEO steps down but remains "closely connected to the company".

Berlin, 31/01/2011: Andreas Weidenhaupt resigns from the executive board and from his other mandates in the Frogster Group in best mutual agreement at the end of April 2011 to devote himself to new professional challenges. His responsibilities will be allocated to his executive board colleagues.

Andreas Weidenhaupt was founder and managing director of the games portal Onlinewelten.com and has been CEO and managing director of the Frogster Online Gaming GmbH since July 2008. The hundred percent subsidiary of Frogster Interactive Pictures AG runs the operative business of Frogster in Europe. In February 2009, Andreas Weidenhaupt was appointed to the executive board by the supervisory board of Frogster Interactive Pictures AG and since then has been responsible for product and brand development as well as for the expansion of the company’s portfolio in the position of Chief Licensing Manager. At the beginning of 2008 he licensed ‘Runes of Magic’ for Frogster, adapted it for the Western market, and established it as one of the most successful online role-playing games of the last years in Europe and the USA. In this way he has significantly contributed to the success of the Frogster Group.

In 2010, Andreas Weidenhaupt has furthermore been responsible for the licensing of the top titles ‘TERA’ and ‘Mythos’ for Frogster as well as for a yet unnamed MMO title from the Chinese games major Shanda Games, which are to be released in 2011 and 2012.

Andreas Weidenhaupt will remain closely connected to Frogster and will still be available as a consultant. “We thank Andreas kindly for his job performance of the past years, the amicable co-operation with the executive board colleagues and for his significant contribution to the success of Frogster. In the course of last year, Andreas managed to fill the Frogster product pipeline with excellent titles for the next years in advance”, comments Christoph Gerlinger, chairman of the executive board of Frogster, on his withdrawal.
