Alten8 announces multiple new releases

Porting service now available for mobile phone developers

Retro software developer and publisher Alten8 has announced the expansion of its Java-based mobile games portfolio, which is now compatible with over a hundred of the most popular handsets on the market.

The company's existing portfolio of thirty retro games is currently compatible with just 49 Java handsets, and Alten8 is now updating, enhancing and porting the products for a much broader range of some 130-plus mobile handsets, with further compatibility extensions to follow.

In addition to updating, enhancing and providing extra content for its existing products, Alten8 is working closely with numerous independent developers for the creation of an entirely new, as yet undisclosed line of mobile content, based on the firm's continually expanding retro videogame content licensing deals.

Aside from its continuing software development division, Alten8 aims to provide developers with a cost effective and efficient porting service, covering multiple handsets and offering multi-lingual localisation as a viable outsourcing solution for a fast and effective means of bringing mobile content to market.

Leveraging its growing relationships with global distribution companies and partners in various territories, Alten8's retro collection will be available through a host of different channels around the world. The company recently announced a distribution agreement with MIG, which will see its rapidly expanding retro gaming product line distributed throughout China.

Established at the beginning of 2005, Alten8 focuses on licensed products, developed, published and distributed under its retro-soft brand, in addition to creating new independently developed games, which it publishes under the Alten8 label. The company continues to expand and develop its porting and localisation services for small independent developers working in the wireless and handheld gaming arena.
