Aeon Flux movie tie-in announced

US firm Majesco has signed a deal with Paramount Pictures publish the videogame tie-in for Aeon Flux, a futuristic sci-fi adventure starring Charlize Theron.

The movie, which is currently in post-production, also stars Frances McDormand, Johnny Lee Miller and Pete Postlethwaite, and is directed by Karyn Kusama.

It's based on the Aeon Flux animated TV series which was broadcast on MTV between 1992-97 and follows the adventures of the title character, a secret agent with a mysterious background.

Theron, who plays Aeon in the movie, will lend her voice and likeness to the game, which is billed as "a palpitating blend of stealth, speed and acrobatic combat."

"We are excited to be partnering with MTV and Terminal Reality on such an encompassing project as Aeon Flux," said Majesco president Jesse Sutton.

"By including the voice talent and likeness of Charlize Theron, we hope to provide consumers with a product that seamlessly fits within the world of Aeon Flux yet offers an interactive component that complements its entertainment counterparts."

Aeon Flux is due to appear on PS2 and Xbox this autumn, in conjunction with the cinematic release.
