Activision expects record revenues of US $823 million (EUR 636.7m) for the third quarter, driven by sales of four key titles in the publisher's portfolio.

Revenue was up from US $816.2 million (EUR 631.5m) during the same period last year, trouncing the previously announced estimate of US $600 million (EUR 464.2m).

"Net revenues for the third quarter of fiscal 2007 are expected to be the highest in Activision's history," said Robert Kotick, CEO of Activision.

"Our results were driven by a smaller, high-quality game slate that was anchored by four key games - Call of Duty, Marvel: Ultimate Alliance, Tony Hawk's Project 8 and Guitar Hero."

However, the publisher did warn that fourth quarter results are expected to be heavily impacted by the ongoing costs of a stock option review, as well as the delay to 2008 of Quake Wars: Enemy Territory.

Activision expects Q4 revenues to be down from US $175 million (EUR 135.4m) to US $170 million (EUR 131.5). For the entire fiscal year 2007, the publisher increased its net revenue expectations to US $1.37 billion (EUR 1.06bn), compared to its previous outlook of US $1.15bn (EUR 889.8m).
