Former Twitter top brass Kristin Binns has been appointed senior vice president and chief communications officer of Activision Blizzard, the publisher announced this week.
Binns' previously spent two years as head of corporate communications with Twitter where she spearheaded a communications strategy which drove GAAP profitability for the first time in the social media giant's history.
Her new role will have her overseeing and creating global communications strategies for Activision Blizzard's' franchises such as Call of Duty, World of Warcraft, and Overwatch.
Prior to joining Twitter, Binns served as the vice president of public relations at medical insurance firm Anthem, where she oversaw healthcare reform.
Binns began her career in political communications on Capitol Hill in Washington DC, and has held a number of leadership roles at General Electric and NBC Universal.
"It's an incredible time to join Activision Blizzard whose iconic franchises have enriched the lives of so many fans in new and innovative ways," said Binns. "I'm excited to help shape and tell Activision Blizzard's story as the world's leading interactive entertainment company."
Binns will officially join Activision Blizzard in July, reporting directly to CEO Bobby Kotick.
