Ace Combat ousts PES 2012 for Japanese number 1

Just Dance Wii takes second as 3DS wins hardware race

Assault Horizon, the latest iteration of the Ace Combat series, has taken first in the Japanese software chart in its debut week with its PS3 SKU, with the Xbox 360 version coming in sixth.

Just Dance Wii was second, pushing Winning Eleven 2012, known in the west as PES, into third. AKB1/48 If I Loved an Idol in Guam slipped to fourth from last week's second, whilst Forza 4 made another Microsoft shaped dent in the top ten at number five.

Six of the top ten titles in the week ending 16 October were new entries.

Despite only having one software title in the top twenty, Nintendo's 3DS retained the lead in the hardware chart, selling just north of 55,000 units in the territory.
