Abandon Mobile to publish NBC Sports games

Three branded titles heading to mobiles

Abandon Mobile has announced plans to bring three NBC Sports-branded titles to more than 125 types of mobile handset next year.

The three games - Bode Miller Alpine Racing, NBC Sports Speed Skating and NBC Sports Figure Skating - will be the first titles released under the recently signed agreement between Abandon and NBC.

All of the games are designed to appeal to seasoned mobile gamers as well as novice users, as Abandon COO Jamie Ottilie explained: "Our idea was to create games that people everywhere would associate with."

"When you're looking to kill a few minutes by playing games on your mobile device, you want something fun and familiar."

Abando Mobile, which was established by Abandon Entertainment and GF Capital Management, signed the publishing agreement with NBC Sports in August. The first batch of NBC Sports games will roll out in early 2006, and future branded titles will include NBC Sports Heads-Up Poker and Golf Skills Challenge.
