SAN FRANCISCO – December 16, 2010 – Hands-On Entertainment is pleased to announce its popular mobile game, Deadliest Catch, based on Discovery Channel’s Emmy-winning show, has been named the winner in the ninth annual Mobile Star Awards™ program, hosted by mobile technology news portal MobileVillage.com.
Deadliest Catch Mobile Game, developed by Hands-On Entertainment, won the Superstar Award in the category Consumer App: Game.
All categories and winners are listed on MobileVillage.com at www.mobilevillage.com/awards.htm.
As in past years, the Mobile Star Awards program showcases "best of" entries in dozens of categories including mobile apps, wireless network solutions, enterprise mobile software, enterprise success stories, technology visionaries, and more.
Winners were chosen by subscribers of MobileVillage's "Go Mobile™" – a free bi-weekly e-newsletter that delivers informative headlines and links to top mobile technology stories on popular websites including: CNET, Engadget, Gizmodo, Mashable, Computerworld, and many others. "Go Mobile" was launched over ten years ago and is now read by thousands of readers.
“The Deadliest Catch franchise has an enormous fan base. We are proud to be a part of such a successful brand that allows fans to connect with their favorite TV show on the mobile platform,” said David McCaman, senior director of marketing, Hands-On Entertainment. “We are both thrilled and honored to have been selected for a Mobile Star Award.”
"Because 'Go Mobile' readers are the industry's most savvy mobile business users, Mobile Star Awards winners can claim they are the users' choice," says Jon Covington, MobileVillage founder and president. "Winners are chosen by real users based on real results, not hype. Brand new mobile services competed on equal footing with well-established solutions. Both nominees and winners are respected in the mobile industry as the new leaders to watch."
In addition to MobileVillage, the Sponsors for the 2010 Mobile Star Awards were aisle411, CyberShift, MobileFrame, and Nadel Phelan.
