SAN DIEGO, CA & VANCOUVER, BC March 23, 2010 - Submissions into the 2010 ELAN Video Game Awards will be closing in just 4 weeks so if you have not gotten your titles in for at least one of the 30 allotted award categories, it's time to hurry. All forms are online at www.theelans.com

The awards ceremony for video games - with additional nods to animation, visual effects, marketing & advertising and student work - which has been held in Vancouver for all three of its previous years is being re-launched into a three-day celebration in San Diego beginning on Saturday, July 17th with two days of parties and ending on Monday July 19th, the evening prior to Comic-con, with the grand finale itself, the 2010 ELANS Dinner Awards Ceremony.

Building on the huge success of three Canadian shows hosted by William Shatner (Star Trek), Seth MacFarlane (Family Guy) and Tom Kenny ("SpongeBob SquarePants"), the show's Founder and Producer, Holly Carinci will now launch the 4th ELAN Awards onto center stage in the United States. To celebrate the U.S. launch Carinci will be starting it all off with a splash by throwing a Welcome Pool Party Saturday afternoon, July 17th, for 1,000 VIPs. This first ELAN Award party is being held at the beautiful Manchester Grand Hyatt at their gorgeous pool area with amazing views of San Diego and Coronado Island. Hosted food stations and premium bars will be everywhere and so will the suits ...BATHING SUITS that is. With Hollywood in attendance, video game artists will be sure to come away from this party with plenty of villain and vixen inspiration ...

Sunday night's Party-in-the-Streets is all about the nominees for the 2010 ELANS celebrating with 2,000+ friends, peers, media and celebrities in the world-famous Gaslamp District. Party-goers will move through the streets and the District's restaurants and dine on food prepared just for them along with the always-free-and-free-flowing premium cocktails, beer and wine. With live performances from bands such as this year's Grammy-nominated "Splitting Adam", video gamers will enjoy a party unlike anything they've ever experienced before.

On Monday, July 19th Industry Luminaries will walk the red carpet alongside Celebrities in front of fans and media. They will enter into the heady environment of the 2010 ELAN Awards Gala Reception, heightened by expensive champagne and delectable appetizers served in the luxurious foyer of the Elizabeth Ballroom.

1,200 Nominees and their guests joined by both Industry and Hollywood stars will enjoy an unforgettable 4-course ELAN Awards Dinner in the elegant Elizabeth Ballroom in the Manchester Grand Hyatt prior to the 2010 ELAN Awards Ceremony. Two stars, one from Hollywood and the other from the Video Game Industry will share the Hosting duties of the awards ceremony.

The best show producers in Los Angeles and San Diego will be involved in the staging of the 2010 ELAN Awards promising an entertaining and technically advanced show. The thirty awards given out on the evening will include new convergent categories never before awarded and game clips never before seen in North America all of which will combine to create the crowning touch for the 2010 ELAN Awards.

2000+ VIPS will celebrate their wins and drown their losses at the 2010 ELAN Awards After-Party held in one of San Diego's most posh and lavish destinations "ON BROADWAY". Like the finale of a great fireworks show, the guests, nominees and winners of the 2010 ELAN Awards will wrap up their 3 day celebration with an explosive party at the high-energy dance club, complete with a computerized light show and 90,000 watt sound system.

"Music has the Grammy's, Television the Emmy's, Movies the Oscars and the Golden Globes," says Carinci. "Video Gaming is now bigger than all of them and as the number one industry in entertainment it deserves an awards ceremony on par with these esteemed ceremonies that celebrates this magnificent industry's growth and position."

"How this works this year is that when we decide to open for ticket sales we will do so without warning. It will be the day we announce our fabulous Hosts," explains Carinci. "One day we go to our waiting list which is for the industry only and the next day we will open to the public and sell whatever is left."

The ELAN Awards honor Video Games as well as Animation and Visual Effects. This is the 4th production of the ELAN Awards; the first three enormously popular shows were held in Canada with Hosts William Shatner, Seth MacFarlane and Tom Kenny respectively. This is the first year that the ELAN Awards will be held in the United States. Thirty statuettes will be handed out during the formal black-tie 2010 ELAN Awards Ceremony.
