BBC hints at iPlayer on the PS3 "in due course"

The BBC's head of digital media technology has commented on plans to make the iPlayer available on the PS3 saying it is on their "roadmap"

Commenting on his blog, Anthony Rose reacted to the website ps3iplayer.com, which allows PS3 owners to stream the iPlayer.

"We'd love to be on every popular device tomorrow, including the PS3, and it was on our roadmap," he wrote.

"We're investigating the optimal video profile and browser proposition to enable us to officially make iPlayer available on PS3 in due course."

Currently the BBC only supports the iPlayer on the Wii and plans to make it more accessible but, in the blog post, Anthony Rose claims they are hampered by resource limitations.
