Pirates of the Caribbean director Gore Verbinski is to keynote this year's D.I.C.E. Summit, taking place in Las Vegas, February 6 — 8.

Joining the line-up of the Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences event is EA's John Riccitiello, Microsoft's Shane Kim, president of Oddworld Lorne Lanning, Blizzard's Mike Morhaime, Jim Ward of LucasArts and Ubisot's Yannis Mallat.

"Gore Verbinski is a great example of today's breed of entertainment creator," said Joseph Olin, president of the Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences.

"His talent and experience as a film-maker are directly relevant to videogame makers as they continue to push the boundaries of how they can engage and captivate the growing number of people who play games."

The event will also host the 11th Annual Interactive Entertainment Awards, which last year saw Epic Games' Gears of War scoop eight gongs at the prestigious show.
