Giant Interactive Group Inc. (Giant Interactive), formerly Giant Network Technology Limited, is an online game developer and operator. The Company focuses on massively multiplayer online (MMO) games that are played through networked game servers, in which a number of players are able to simultaneously connect and interact. Giant Interactive operates three MMO games, all of which it has developed internally: ZT Online, ZT Online pay-to-play (PTP) and Giant Online. ZT Online PTP and Giant Online had 101,862 and 106,986 quarterly active paying players respectively as of December 31, 2007. During the year ended December 31, 2007, it has acquired rights to K III, which was developed by Lager Network, a Taiwan-based game developer, and intends to commercially launch the game in China. As of June 16, 2008, it had also acquired license to operate its fifth online game, empire of sports (EOS), in China, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan, and intends to commercially launch EOS.
