More details of Gamecock's alternative to E3

Gamecock Media Group has revealed more details of E.I.E.I.O., a showcase for original games which is designed to rival the E3 Media & Business Summit.

Gamecock Media Group has revealed more details of E.I.E.I.O., a showcase for original games which is designed to rival the E3 Media & Business Summit.

The Expo for Interactive Entertainment, Independent and Original, as the event is fully titled, will take place at the Hotel California, Santa Monica, from July 11 - 13 - the same time as E3.

"EIEIO is going to be a celebration of the amazing lineup of independent developers that Gamecock has been lucky enough to sign on, and Iâm thrilled to say that every one of them will be in attendance to give personal demos of their works in progress," said CEO Mike Wilson.

"While this year's E3 âbusiness summitâ might seem a bit strange and uptight, those who still harbor a true love for original games and the talented folks that create them should know that thereâs plenty of room at the Hotel California. Such a lovely place."

Gamecock's line-up is said to cover "every platform and multiple genres", with both previously announced and newly unveiled games on show.

PC exclusive Fury will be present, along with Dementium for DS, Insecticide and Mushroom Men for DS and Wii and Dungeon Hero for PC and Xbox 360. There's also Hail to the Chimp, in development for unspecified next-gen platforms, plus "two major unannounced next-gen titles".

E.I.E.I.O. will run from 12pm - 6pm on July 11, 10am - 6pm the following day and 12pm - 4pm on July 13, at the Hotel California, 1670 Ocean Avenue.
