Metaboli has reported that its revenue has grown by 120 per cent for the first quarter of 2009, crediting the results to partnerships with publishers, including Rockstar, Paradox and Epic Games.
The company also attributed the results to the success of recent promotions, revealing that its two-day 75 per cent discount on Sega titles resulted in 25-fold increase in sales and a 210 per cent jump in revenue across the publisher's entire catalogue.
"Our triple-digit growth is based on strong fundamentals, namely the introduction of a very attractive promotional plan to our customers and having the largest digital videogames catalogue in Europe," said Jérôme Gayet, VP marketing and product.
"The results were also driven by the release of big titles, such as GTA IV, Football Manager 2009 and FEAR 2, which were the bestselling games of Q1 2009."
Pierre Forest, VP content, added: "Metaboli strives to deliver the best value to its customers by offering exclusive products.
"During the first quarter of 2009 we bolstered our offering with exclusive games launches, including Codemaster's Leisure Suit Larry, and digital exclusive launches, such as Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3 Uprising. We also strive to offer the broadest games catalogue possible, while the traditional brick and mortar retailers are required to limit their offerings to recent blockbusters."
Metaboli predicts its growth will be over 100 per cent for the rest of 2009, supported by its current strategy.
