Fresh details of Hip Games' first title based on the work of legendary horror director George A Romero have been announced, with British developer Kuju Entertainment on board to develop PC and console versions.

Fresh details of Hip Games' first title based on the work of legendary horror director George A Romero have been announced, with British developer Kuju Entertainment on board to develop PC and console versions.

Work is underway on the project at Kuju's headquarters in Surrey, and the game is expected to ship during Hip Games' next fiscal year - which runs through to March 31st, 2006.

"Our spines are tingling in anticipation," according to Kuju co-founder Ian Baverstock. "George A. Romero is recognised as one of the leading directors in the horror world. We're excited to be translating the zombies and terror created in George's imagination into an atmospheric gorefest for game players."

George A Romero is best known for his zombie movies Night of the Living Dead, Dawn of the Dead and Day of the Dead. Hip Games holds the license to produce a series of videogames based on the director's work, and Romero is also believed to be collaborating on an original title with game developer American McGee called City of the Dead.
