British developer Kuju Entertainment is opening a new development location in the south coast town of Brighton, based around the core team from Wide Games and headed up by Wide co-founder Ed Daly.

The new studio is working on a PlayStation 2 title which is set to be announced shortly, and is interested in discussing future projects with publishers - with the advantage of hitting the ground running thanks to the experience of the Wide team.

Kuju Brighton is the fourth development studio to be opened by the AIM-listed developer, joining locations in Godalming (Surrey), London and Sheffield. Kuju has recently announced development deals with leading publishers including Activision, Konami and Nintendo.

"The Wide Games team is delighted to have joined Kuju," according to co-founder and former Wide MD Ed Daly. "With the establishment of Kuju we can offer both staff and clients the benefits of a large company, with its established infrastructure, whilst maintaining the culture and focus of a smaller studio with an intimate working environment, ideal for fostering creativity."
