Game Convention announces details of industry party

The organisers of the Games Convention in Leipzig next month have announced that the industry party at the event will run this year on Thursday, August 24th - giving exhibitors and trade visitors a chance to socialise at a venue near the convention centre.

The theme for the year is "Back to the Roots" - and as well as taking place in the picturesque Volkspalast events space on the site of the old trade fair centre, it will also return to the original intention of the event, according to GC director Angela Schierholz.

"Together with the industry, we have decided that this evening should be used as an occasion primarily devoted to cultivating contacts," she explained.

To that end, the party will provide a quieter atmosphere and a split venue, allowing space both for networking and discussion, as well as a further area with a dance floor and DJs playing until the small hours of the morning.

Tickets for the industry party cost 39 Euro, and are available directly from the Games Convention organisers.
