EA acquires Industrial Toys

Midnight Star development studio brings mobile expertise to EA Worldwide Studios

Electronic Arts has acquired mobile development studio Industrial Toys, adding the team to its growing roster of "Worldwide Studios." The acquisition closed earlier this month.

Industrial Toys is a California-based development studio started by former Bungie CEO and Disney executive Alex Seropian. The studio released iOS shooter Midnight Star in 2015 and its sequel, Midnight Star: Renegade, a year later. Currently, the studio has 14 employees, who will remain together as Industrial Toys now under EA's Worldwide Studios banner.

"Creating breakthrough games takes passionate developers and incredible creativity, and each time we've worked with the Industrial Toys team, we've been inspired by their unique approach," said senior VP for EA Worldwide Studios Samantha Ryan. "We're thrilled to have them join our studio organization, pursue new ideas together and bring amazing new games to our players."
