This year's Leipzig GC Developers Conference, the biggest event of its kind in Europe, is set to take place between August 20 - 22 at the Leipzig Exhibition Centre.

Along with keynote speeches and panel discussions, the conference will feature workshops and various networking opportunities.

It will follow three program tracks - game development, business and science. Key concepts to be discussed will include mobile gaming, server technology, the European development industry and the convergence between games and films.

A new website will be launched for the event next week at GCDC.eu. Project director Frank Sliwka explained, "The choice of a new domain underscores the European alignment of the conference."

The website, which is being launched with the motto 'Upgrade the Future', will feature a news section, video interviews and a matchmaking application to help attendees organise their GCDC appointments.

"âUpgrade the Futureâ expresses the fact that we offer developers insight into the future, new technologies and business ideas," said Sliwka.

"This is only possible thanks to the outstanding support of the industry itself and we are proud of the trust placed in us over the past five years. With GCDC as the most significant European platform for developers, we aim to continue to bring together and strengthen the European branch of the industry."

Speakers have yet to be announced for GCDC 2007, but last year the line-up included Don Daglow, Peter Molyneux, Bill Roper and Graham Hopper.
