Carl Yankowski steps up as new Majesco CEO

Publisher Majesco has announced the appointment of a new chief executive, with Carl Yankowski taking the helm at the company with an appointment as both chairman and CEO.

Yankowski's impressive CV lists work at market leading firms including Sony Electronics, General Electric, Pepsi-Cola, 3Com/Palm and Procter & Gamble, and it's telling that his appointment comes as Majesco continues to move increasingly towards being a mainstream publisher.

A number of moves on the firm's part in the past months - including the signing of former LucasArts man Tim Schafer's eagerly anticipated Psychonauts title, and the marketing of the forthcoming BloodRayne 2 by means of a Playboy appearance for its eponymous female star - have clearly shown its intentions to join the top flight of publishers.

Former Majesco chairman Morris Sutton will continue to serve on the company's board of directors, taking the title of chairman emeritus to make way for Yankowski's appointment.
