SCEA announces remaining 2008 lineup

SCEA has officially announced their software lineup for the remainder of 2008 and early 2009, consisting of 16 games across all PlayStation platforms.

Of note include the first appearance of BUZZ! on the PSP and PS3 and a follow-up to the PS2 Siren game in the form of 12 downloadable episodes on the PlayStation Network. SCEA has also announced only a single PS2 release - NBA 09.

"For the second half of 2008 and beyond, we will see a spectacular line up of triple-A titles and original gaming content that will satisfy PlayStation fans across the board," said Scott Steinberg, SCEA's VP of product marketing.

A complete list of SCEA's announced lineup is as follows:

PlayStation Network titles:

  • wipEout HD (Summer)
  • Elefunk (Summer)
  • PixelJunk Eden (Summer)
  • Siren: Blood Curse (Summer)

PSP titles:

  • Hot Shots Golf Open Tee 2 (June)
  • Secret Agent Clank (June)
  • NBA 09 (Fall)
  • BUZZ! Master Quiz (Fall)

PlayStation 2 titles:

  • NBA 09 (Fall)

PlayStation 3 titles:

  • SOCOM: US Navy SEALs Confrontation (September)

  • Killzone 2 (February 2009)

SCEA says that PS3's momentum is stronger than ever this year thanks to strong holiday sales and Blu-ray Disc becoming the de facto high-definition standard - not to mention titles such as Gran Turismo 5 Prologue.

According to the company, more than 8 million accounts have been registered worldwide on the PlayStation Network with over 140 million downloads to date.
