Capcom and DC team for new comics line

Capcom is partnering with DC Comics on two new series' based on the publisher's popular gaming franchises.

Resident Evil and Devil May Cry will get the comic book treatment, and be published under the WildStorm imprint.

"Comics are a critical component in Capcom’s merchandising strategy for our most cherished franchises, as they target the same discerning, loyal fans that care most about these established brands," commented Germaine Giola, senior VP of licensing for Capcom.

"DC's undisputed development and distribution strength within the comic industry make them an ideal partner to further expand two of our most successful and sophisticated gaming properties."

The deal comes days after DC Comics announced a partnership with Electronic Arts to create a series based on the forthcoming Mirror's Edge game.
