Sega reports international sales growth

Sega has released figures for the financial year ended 31 March 2008, which reveals a growth in international sales of over 10 per cent.

Total international sales accounted for JPY 107.9 billion (USD 1.03 billion) of the total net sales, worth JPY 458.9 billion (USD 4.36 billion), compared to JPY 69.4 billion (USD 659.5 million) in international sales the previous year.

These figures show a percentage increase of overseas sales to net sales of 10.4 per cent. Sales in North America, Europe and elsewhere grew to 23.5 percent of Sega's total sales revenue, up from 13.1 per cent the previous year.

North American sales account for 10.9 percent of net sales at JPY 50.0 billion (USD 475.4 million), up from 7 per cent, or JPY 37.0 billion (USD 352.1 million), the previous year.

Europe's share of sales grew from 4.7 per cent to 10.4 per cent, earning Sega JPY 47.6 billion (USD 453.1 million), while the rest of the world saw its sales grow from 1.4 per cent to 2.2 per cent contributing JPY 10.2 billion (USD 97.4 million) to the net sales figure.
