Retailers slash new release prices

Online and High Street retailers are slashing the prices on high profile new releases in the run up to Christmas

Play.com is currently offering THQs Saints Row 2, Take-Two's BioShock for PlayStation 3, Ubisoft's Shaun White Snowboarding and Rockstar's Grand Theft Auto IV all for GBP 17.99, along with a number of other discounts.

High Street chain Gamestation is selling Microsoft's Fable II for GBP 19.99, with the promotion backed by a high profile TV campaign.

Amazon.co.uk is offering a number of titles for less than half price, including Bethesda's Fallout 3 for Xbox 360 and Disney's High School Musical 3: Senior Year for the Wii.

And while Sony has not officially cut the price of the PlayStation 3, the Sony Style site is currently discounting the 40GB model by GBP 40, retailing for GBP 249.
