Pete Hickman takes role of head of production

Pete Hickman has joined London based developer Mediatonic as head of production. Hickman had previously worked with Eidos as an executive producer on a number of casual titles.

"Mediatonic is the UK’s most exciting and creative video game developer, so it’s great to have joined the team and get stuck into some of its most demanding projects," Hickman said of the appointment.

"In my role as head of production, I’ll be helping to really cement our reputation as creators of world-class games for digital download on all current and future gaming platforms."

Best known for original games like Monsters (Probably) Stole My Princess and Who's That Flying, Mediatonic has also built over 100 games for established entertainment brands like Sonic and Diner Dash.

"Mediatonic is growing rapidly with working on more games than ever before across a large range of platforms," added Paul Croft, director of games at Mediatonic.

"Pete has a huge wealth of knowledge and wisdom about our business and we’re very excited to have him joining the team, where his expertise will be invaluable."

Mediatonic is home to 20 developers who work across a number of platforms, including PSP, iOS and social networks. One of its current projects is a Facebook game based on hot comic and television series The Walking Dead, in conjunction with Telltale Games.
